I had this “fruit fluff dip” one summer at a friend’s house for brunch and it has turned out to be one of my favorite summer dip recipes! No waiting for cream cheese to get to room temperature, no stand mixer, hand mixer or food processor required!

Two ingredients, fresh cut fruit and a pretty serving bowl are all you need for a beautiful and elegant fruit board!

Why this easy fruit dip works

Minimal prep time – literally ready in minutes; this simple dip uses common ingredients you’ll find at your grocery store and is better than any store-bought version and there’s no waiting time for regular cream cheese to soften

  • Two Simple ingredients – sour cream and marshmallow fluff are available year round; perfect to serve with your favorite fruits. There’s no preservatives like in cool whip, no heavy cream, condensed milk, powdered sugar, no cream cheese, plain Greek yogurt, lemon juice – none of that. Just sour cream and marshmallow creme.
  • Versatile – you can also pair it with little shortcake (think strawberry shortcake), or serve a drizzle over grilled pears or peaches!
  • The fluffy texture of this 2 ingredient fruit dip is due, in part, to the fact that it doesn’t contain cream cheese. Cream cheese is a processed cheese that, while it is delicious, it isn’t required for this tasty fruit dip.

Ingredients for creamy fluff fruit dip

This is one of my favorite recipes, particularly in the summer. Two simple ingredients: Sour cream and marshmallow creme.

Who’d of thought these ingredients would result in the perfect combination for a homemade fruit dip? This is perfect for entertaining and a great way to make a pretty fruit board platter presentation for a baby shower, brunch, luncheon or bridal showers!

How to make it

This is actually a pretty healthy fruit dip – granted, the marshmallow creme probably has a handful of ingredients we don’t need at family gatherings, but once in awhile, this sweet treat is the perfect accompaniment to an assortment of fruits.

Dip fresh strawberries, sweet watermelon, honeydew melons, berries and cantaloupe into this yummy and light dip. It’s one of my favorite things to make in the summer, especially when there’s a nice variety of fruits.

Start with equal parts of sour cream and marshmallow creme; mix that together in a small bowl and taste!

If you want it a little bit sweeter, add more marshmallow fluff. If you want your fruit dip a little bit tangier, add some more sour cream! How simple is that for a sweet dip? And it pairs beautifully with any type of fruit!

This homemade fruit dip is so much better than store bought brands like Marzetti fruit dip which contains a handful of ingredients I can’t pronounce.

Serving suggestions

Use this fruit dip with sour cream as a dessert dip and serve with a variety of fruit. It’s also a nice addition to a light lunch with a fruit salad, or as a dip for graham crackers or vanilla wafers or animal crackers! (kids love this)

If you have a plain pound cake, drizzle a little of this delicious dip over the top!

Arrange fresh cut fruit and the 2 ingredient fruit dip on a “charcuterie fruit board”

If you’re serving this on a pretty board (like you’d do a charcuterie board), garnish it with a little lemon zest or sprigs of fresh mint!

Storage

Store this creamy dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. When ready to serve, simply allow it to come to room temperature then serve it in a pretty little bowl with a small spoon for drizzling over your favorite fresh fruits!
